Starting January Off Right
January has long been a month to start anew. Many cultures throughout the ages have ushered in the new year with gifts designed to increase health, wealth and luck. Some of our favorites:- Tony’s ancestors, the ancient Romans, gave gifts of gilded nuts or coins to celebrate the new year
- Persians exchanged eggs, the symbol of fertility
- Ancient Egyptians traded earthenware flasks
- Scots gave coal, shortbread and silverware to usher in the new season

Steak is how I measure restaurants. I have enjoyed some fine meals at many of the best restaurants in the country, so the bar is set high. Tony’s of Lexington cleared the mark easily. The steak was absolutely perfect. It arrived at my table hot and juicy. The presentation was classic. The steak was seasoned just right and seared so well my mouth waters just thinking about it! Service was attentive and discreet…
